Rappahannock Cellars
1.4 miles from Glen Gordon Manor
Start your wine adventure just over a mile from the Manor. This family-owned winery has roots in winemaking and farming that stretch back generations. The Delmare family brought its passion for wine from California to Virginia in 1998 and has since transformed its Glenway Farm into a thriving vineyard in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Rappahannock Cellars focuses on rich, elegant wines and sustainable practices, with the estate powered entirely by solar energy. Visit the tasting room to explore current selections, then stay awhile with a glass or bottle on the patios, decks, lawn, vineyard pavilion, or rooftop patio. Light fare, including curated cheeses, sandwiches, and spreads, is available, and guests may also bring a picnic. With its convenient location and daily tasting hours, it is an easy first stop on your wine-country itinerary.
Chester Gap Cellars
3.6 miles from Glen Gordon Manor
A short drive from the Manor, Chester Gap Cellars pairs handcrafted estate wines with spectacular mountain scenery. The vineyards and tasting room sit between 1,000 and 1,300 feet on the eastern slopes of the Shenandoah Mountains.
The 62-acre property has 11 acres under vine, with estate-grown varieties including Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Viognier, Roussanne, Petit Manseng, and Chardonnay. The winery emphasizes minimal intervention, high-elevation growing, rocky soils, and cooler summer temperatures that allow grapes to remain on the vine until they reach optimal ripeness. It is a wonderful stop when you want to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and taste wines made directly from the surrounding land.

Glen Manor Vineyards

Glen Manor Vineyards offers an intimate wine-country experience on a historic family farm. The 226-acre estate includes pastures, forests, 18 acres of vineyards, and borders Shenandoah National Park.
The vineyard’s steep mountain slopes and rocky soils create a distinctive growing environment. Guests can enjoy a five-wine tasting indoors or order a glass or bottle to enjoy outdoors.
The winery does not serve food, so visitors are encouraged to bring a gourmet picnic. Walk-in groups of up to four are welcome. Groups of five or six require reservations. Vineyard tours are also available by reservation on select days.

Capstone Vineyards
10 miles from Glen Gordon Manor
Tucked into the side of Blue Mountain in Linden, Capstone Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery with an elevated setting and sweeping views. The vineyard was planted in 2013 and now includes 12.5 acres under vine, with a variety of elevations, soils, and slopes that contribute to the character of its wines.
Capstone produces small-batch wines designed to express the land, vines, and people behind them. Its intimate tasting room offers guided tastings and a more personal look at the winemaking process. Owner and winemaker Theo is often involved in the tasting experience, and guests may have the chance to sample a future vintage from the barrel or taste grapes directly from the vines. Reservations are recommended, particularly when the tasting room is busy.
Philip Carter Winery

Philip Carter Winery combines Virginia wine with centuries of family history. The Carter family traces its American wine legacy to 1762, and today the winery continues that tradition through handcrafted wines, educational experiences, and vineyard hospitality.
Guests can choose a self-guided tasting flight or reserve a seated tasting led by a tasting-room educator. For a more immersive visit, the winery’s Tour & Picnic Experience includes a guided vineyard and winery tour, wine education, and a picnic with cheeses, cured meats, crackers, and chocolates.
